    Nu-disco

    Part of Disco

Nu disco is a modern evolution of disco music that emerged in the mid-2000s, blending classic disco sounds with contemporary electronic production techniques. It combines the funky, danceable rhythms and melodic elements of 70s and 80s disco with modern synthesizers, deep basslines, and house music influences. Nu disco often features smooth, groovy beats, catchy vocal hooks, and a polished, retro-futuristic aesthetic, creating a fresh take on the disco sound while maintaining its nostalgic vibe. The genre is often more laid-back and atmospheric compared to its predecessor, but still retains a strong emphasis on rhythm and groove. Artists like Daft Punk, Todd Terje, and Justice are key figures in the nu disco movement.
